Complexity- General project description
My Ph.D. project has two different branches:
1. Studying and developing further a theoretical framework that is capable of describing various dynamical systems in different fields of science. This framework is based on several works made by my advisor, Sorin Solomon, in the last 10 years which are now taking the form of a coherent theoretical model - with different regimes of parameters and different predictions according to the choice of these parameters (based on the specific system one wishes to apply the model to). In one sentence : It is a discrete spatially extended generalized Lotka Volterra system.
2. Analyzing empirical and experimental data sets from various fields, and use the stylized facts I extract from them to validate/fulsify the different predictions of the generic theoretical framework (1.). Example for such data are:
-The economy in Poland across its' liberalization.
-The Real-Estate market in Paris in the last 15 years.
-Bacteria-Viruses' communities under dramatic environmental changes.
